Goblins in appearance, temperament and general discription are as described in the Monster Manual p. . They form tribes, communities and societies, but their chaotic nature, greed, and short lifespans (they mature in about 12 years and only live to about 50) make them unpredictable, as a species and individual. The main exception in the world of Nova, is their subdivision into several tribes:
- Red Eye Goblins-Common on the Western border of the Great Forest, this tribe is arguably the most violent and aggressive. They stand taller than thier cousins and favor destructive magic, with Shamans, Wizards and Warlocks being leaders and powerful figures in their tribes.
- Black Foot Goblins-This tribe has had the most interaction with the Immigrant Races, both good and bad. They were the first Native Race and Goblin tribe to meet the Immigrants, and the tale of this meeting is told in what has become a legendary event, told among all goblin tribes (see below). They see no deceit or dishonor in theivery, and place value on The Sneaky a gift for stealth that many of thier tribe are trained in. This also extends to thier diplomacy, in that they will plot, bargain and lie to achieve thier goals, but if a leader of a tribe makes a pact with another group, they will honor it. They have been known to look for loopholes, however, and there have been over a dozen broken and re-made peace treaties between the Black Foot Goblins and the Immigrant Races in the time they’ve been on Nova for this reason. Rouges and Rangers are their most common Class, and they have been know to hire out as mercenaries to other tribes.
- Blue Tongue Goblins-This tribe is slightly more secretive than the other two, favoring espionage, trickery and assasination as thier prime skills. They are often caught up in their own elaborate, if often short-sited, schemes for self-promotion among thier own heirarchy, that they have posed little threat to the tribes or races beyond their borders. However, they have blatantly broken treaties with the Immigrant Races, and the Black Foot Goblins don’t even trust them that much. They are reknown poisoners, and refine and sell deadly compounds to the highest bidder, often Black Foot rouges. The Blue Tongue Goblins train almost exclusively in Rogue, but are also Wizards and Barbarians.
